Pencil Horses

These are arranged from oldest to newest so you can see how my style has changed. I feel like with horses, I can draw a different style depending on what I see. This one below is a character in a story that I had written.

This is a drawing of my horse. I struggle to make an animal look distinct but using a picture of Brista really helped. I turned this into an oil painting and will post it later on. The picture of Brista that I used for the drawing actually had her tongue sticking out. I’ll post it below the drawing.

Full body horses are really hard. I usually lose my patience before I get to the legs and then just give up. Horse legs are like eyes one line messes them all up and gives them a weird shape. This is probably the best full body horse I have.

This is the most recent horse face I’ve done. I messed up a lot on the angle of the face to the point when the paper almost ripped from all the erasing. I don’t think I got it perfect but it’s pretty close. This particular piece took me about 6 hours to complete.
